About Us
The Pre-School Curriculum is planned in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum as set out
by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA). The Curriculum includes:-
- Language, Literacy and Communication
- Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy
- Knowledge and Understanding of the World
- Creativity
- Physical Development
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
It takes into consideration the individual needs of the children and the need to ensure equality of opportunity.
The quality of educational provision is monitored by OFSTED and the Local Authority.
Children have use of a large hall, a quiet room with a lending library and an outside play area.
We provide afternoon sessions for the older children to prepare them for starting school.
Parents are welcome and actively encouraged to work with staff to provide for children's individual development.
Being a parent helper is a great opportunity to see your child and their new friends whilst getting to know the staff.
It's also possible to become part of the management committee and assist in the running of the Pre-School.
Our catchment area includes both Caversham and Emmer Green.
We provide up to five 2.5 hour sessions per week, which are funded (if you are not already using your funding in another setting). We charge a small top-up fee for the extra half-hour on the Wednesday and Friday sessions. We accept childcare vouchers.
